Welcome to Mathunlock ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Mathunlock iOS application — a screen time management app that requires you to solve math problems to unlock distracting apps.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the Mathunlock service:
- Account Information: When you sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive a unique user identifier, your name (if you choose to share it), and your email address.
- App Usage Data: We store data about your math challenges solved, hours of screen time saved, and leaderboard scores to power in-app features. This data is stored securely in our database.
- Subscription Information: Purchases and subscription status are managed by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details.
- Screen Time Data: Mathunlock uses Apple's Screen Time API (ScreenTime / FamilyControls / ManagedSettings) solely on your device to block and unblock apps. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
- Device Information: Basic device identifiers and OS version, used to ensure compatibility and improve performance.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- Power leaderboard rankings and track your progress
- Manage and verify your subscription entitlements
- Send important service notifications and updates
- Improve app stability, performance, and user experience
- Respond to your support requests
4. Screen Time API & On-Device Data
Mathunlock uses Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks to apply and remove app shields on your device. All screen time activity — including which apps you have chosen to block — is processed entirely on your device. This sensitive data is never uploaded to our servers and is never shared with third parties.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services:
- Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: For secure, password-free authentication.
- RevenueCat: For subscription management and purchase validation. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to data they process.
- Apple App Store: All payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store payment details.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: Trusted vendors (such as RevenueCat) who assist us in operating the app, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or in response to valid legal process.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where the successor will be bound by this Privacy Policy.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and secure server infrastructure to protect your account data. However, no electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

Mathunlock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where required by law, notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of Mathunlock after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
